Heads cut off for faith

February 1 marked 21 years since Daniel Pearl, the Wall Street Journal’s South Asian bureau chief, was killed in Pakistan.

From an anniversary article by the Washington Examiner:

"Pearl, a 38-year-old Jewish American known as 'Danny' to friends and family, was in Karachi after the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, investigating Pakistani terrorist groups on behalf of the Wall Street Journal. He was following leads on al Qaeda and Richard Reid, the British-born 'Shoe Bomber' accused of trying to blow up an American Airlines flight in December 2001 when he was abducted. Just over a week later, Pearl was beheaded on video by al Qaeda operatives on Feb. 1, 2002."

According to an article online: "A 3.5-minute video of Pearl’s murder by beheading, titled 'The Slaughter of the Spy-Journalist, the Jew Daniel Pearl,' was sent to the U.S. consulate by a group calling itself the National Movement for the Restoration of Pakistani Sovereignty, pseudonym of the Islamist jihadist group Jaish-e-Mohammed."

In Sura 47 of the Koran is a passage about cutting off the head of the enemy/infidel at the neck. Decapitation is an Islamic ritual, according to the fundamentalists who take the Koran literally.

Guess what's going to manifest itself out in the future according to Revelation 20:4: [4] And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.

"The beheading is a religious ritualistic . . . they're not beheaded because they didn't pay their taxes," explains Alex Kurz. "They're beheaded because of their faith. Do people get their heads cut off today because of their faith?

Revelation 6:9 says, [9] And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held:

"They're slaughtered for religious reasons in the name of God; that's why they're being beheaded."
