In an NYT bestseller book about Luciferic initiation, Communion, author Whitley Striber writes, "One of the biggest advantages we have as New Agers is, once the occult, metaphysical New Age terminology is removed, we have concepts and techniques that are very acceptable to the general public. So we can change the names and in so doing, we open the New Age door to millions who normally would not be receptive."

Michael Horton's The Agony of Deceit: What Some TV Preachers are Really Teaching: "They are unaware that they are repeating the errors of the past. Because they do not understand Greek philosophy or Oriental mysticism, or 19th century theosophy [Luciferianism], they do not know how seriously they have been affected by such thinking."

New Agers like to see the letter X as "the mark of the beast." From the book, The Mark of the Beast: Is It 666, or is It X?: "The Mark of The Beast is Chi (X), The Name of The Beast is 'Perfect Creature of The Earth' (interpreted as being 'Perfect One'), and The Number of The Beast is 6 (possibly written as VI)."

"The SpaceX Crew Dragon is about to be taken out for the ultimate test drive to the International Space Station," boasts NASA.

In a chapter called "They Worship the Dragon," Gail Riplinger's book New Age Bible Versions explains, "(All the new bible versions) have removed the name Lucifer, thereby eliminating the only reference to him in the entire bible. The word Lucifer then falls to the realm of the poets and writers of mythology and ceases to be an identifiable character of biblical origin. He is thereby divorced from the truth concerning himself. In John 8:44 Jesus said, 'the devil . . . is a liar, and the father of it.' He can now have whatever characteristics he desires."

In his book Dark Secrets of the New Age, Fundamentalist Christian Texe Marrs writes, "Why then is the world still confused about the Luciferic roots of the New Age. In part this comes about as a result of the New Ager's absurd contention that though Lucifer is lord, he is not Satan. Satan is said to be a figment of the Christian imagination. Lucifer is not Satan. Lucifer is a good angel."

Prominent Freemason Albert Pike (1809-1891) instructed Masons, "Yes, Lucifer is God . . . The doctrine of Satanism is a heresy; and the true and pure philosophic religion is the belief in Lucifer . . . you may repeat it to the Brethren of the 32nd, 31st and 30th degrees: The Masonic religion should be . . . maintained in the purity of the Luciferian doctrine."

Donald Trump grew up under the internationally famous minister Norman Vincent Peale. He likes to boast that Peale was a main mentor for him and his father.
A blog informs, "Norman Vincent Peale decided to follow his father and become a Methodist minister. He  attended Boston University School of Theology and, in 1924, he was ordained pastor and given his first church in Brooklyn. At about this time, he was invited to join the 'Freemasons.' Peale was initiated to the level of 'Master Mason' on March 3, 1926, in Midwood 'Freemasonic' Lodge No. 1062 (which eventually consolidated, in 1970, with Lexington Lodge No. 310 to become Midwood Lodge No. 310). Peale moved to another Methodist church and completed the degrees of the 'Scottish Freemasonic Rite' in the Valley of Syracuse in 1928 (affiliated with the Valley of New York City in 1934)."

"A Florida pastor and longtime spiritual adviser to President Trump says she was speaking in metaphor when she recently prayed in a sermon for all 'satanic pregnancies' to end in miscarriage.

"In video of the Jan. 5 sermon, posted by the liberal advocacy group Right Wing Watch, televangelist pastor Paula White breathlessly calls on Jesus Christ to 'command all satanic pregnancies to miscarry right now.'

“ 'We declare that anything that’s been conceived in satanic wombs, that it will miscarry, it will not be able to carry forth any plan of destruction, any plan of harm,' White said before an auditorium of congregants.

"As of Sunday morning, the clip, which was just under two minutes long, had been viewed more than 2.5 million times. White’s words are largely being interpreted literally — that she wishes for evil women to have miscarriages — but she shared a rare response to the criticism in which she explained that she was speaking in metaphor, praying for evil plans to be foiled in her congregants’ lives."

O for the wonderful love He has promised

Will L. Thompson (1847-1909), author of the all-time classic hymn, "Softly and Tenderly," wrote one of his most popular songs, “Gathering Shells from the Sea Shore,” in 10 minutes at the age of 26.  It sold 246,000 copies.

The last stanza goes, But now we are growing up in years, Maud, Our locks are silvered and gray;

Yet the vows that, we made on the shore, Maud,

Are fresh in our memories to-day.

There still is a charm in those bright shells

And the sound of the deep ocean's roar.

"It became such a hit that it swept the nation from shore to shore and gathered a fortune for its youthful composer who became known as the 'bard of Ohio,' " says an article on hymnstudiesblog. "However, after a very successful career writing secular and patriotic music, at age 40 Thompson turned to composing sacred songs and established the Will L. Thompson Co., a profitable music publishing firm with offices both in East Liverpool, Ohio and in Chicago, IL.

"In Chicago, he became a personal friend of revival evangelist Dwight Lyman Moody and his chief song director Ira David Sankey.  'Softly and Tenderly,' sometimes given the title of, 'For You and For Me,' was apparently produced and copyrighted in 1880 and was a favorite of Moody’s. It was soon widely used as an invitation song in the great evangelistic campaigns conducted by Moody and Sankey in both the United States and Great Britain."

When the famed evangelist lay dying, Thompson visited Moody to lend spiritual comfort. "The story is told that in 1899 Thompson made a visit to Northfield, MA, where Moody was lying on his deathbed.  Visitors were forbidden, but when Moody heard that Thompson was there, the dying evangelist ignored doctors’ orders and demanded that his old friend be admitted. 

"Though very ill, Moody greeted the songwriter most cordially, took him by the hand, and feebly whispered, 'Will, I would rather have written ‘Softly and Tenderly’ than anything I have been able to do in my whole life.' ”

“United Methodist Hymnal editor, the Rev. Carlton R. Young, notes: “This is a typical lullaby in the gospel hymn tradition that characterizes Jesus as a mother, gently rocking and comforting a child. This attribute contributes to the continuing popularity of this genre of religious song that presents Jesus as waiting, caring, and forgiving in intimate—and for many, compelling—metaphors.”

Other well-known hymns by Thompson include: “Jesus is All the World to Me,” "Lead Me Gently Home, Father" and "There’s A Great Day Coming."

 Another blog says, "Even though he became quite rich, Thompson continued to live a life of service.  He supported various civic and religious activities generously.  He was also aware of the fact that small-town people had very little exposure to good music, so he loaded a piano on a horse-drawn wagon and went through small Ohio towns giving concerts of his music."

Conscious of the internal things

"'The more you grow in grace, there are these moments where you become conscious of, 'That was me. That wasn't Christ. That was my action; that was me trusting my resources,' " explains Preacher Richard Jordan. "As soon as you realize that, you become aware of your own sinfulness; of the sin that dwells in ME. You become aware of what a long way you still have to go as a Believer.

"A quote from an old preacher I always remember is, 'The closer you get to the light the better you see the dirt.' The closer you get to 'It's Christ,' the more you realize, 'It's not me, because I don't have the capacity. I still have a long way to go and it seems like it's taking me forever to get there.'

"You become conscious of your pride, your impatience, your selfishness, your unrighteousness, your irritability, your laziness, your vanity, your complaining, your unbelief, your envy, your greed, your ingratitude. All those things, and you begin to see them in yourself, and you say, 'Woah.' That's what happened to Job.

"Those fiery dart are designed . . . I Timothy 4:2: 'Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron.' Fire burns and it leaves scar tissue. It makes you insensitive. It kills the feeling. You become like Ephesians 4, 'past feeling.' You come to the place where you're insensitive to who you really are in Jesus Christ. That self-centeredness, that self-will, is an internal thing.

"Satan is literally seeking to get you to identify yourself with him and not with the righteousness you have in Jesus Christ. These darts assault you so you think of yourself more in the light of who you were in Adam than who you are in Christ--more when you were under the power of darkness than in the kingdom of His dear Son. That's the goal of these fiery darts.

"The shield against that is the constant, personal application of the truth of God's grace to you in Jesus Christ. You say, 'This isn't really who I am; it's the transformed life I have in Christ that's the real issue.'

"How can you say, 'I'm crucified with Christ nevertheless I live'? The way you say it is by faith. God's Word says that's the reality of who you are. The shield of faith says, 'This is my real identity; not the actions of me, the actions of Christ. Not my faithfulness, or lack of it, but His faithfulness.'

"The shield, the protection, is me trusting who He is and who He's made me in Him, and then personally applying that to my life in whatever the circumstance or situation I'm in. By the way, that transforms your view of the circumstances and situations, because now they're opportunities for your faith to trust who God has made you. They're growing moments.

"That's what faith is; it's what produces the reward of God working in your life. The transformation is in our faith trusting what Jesus Christ has accomplished for us as it's revealed in His Word.

"Faith and discouragement are polar opposites. They don't exist together. The attempt of the Adversary to discourage someone comes about with the assault of the fiery darts.

"It's easy when you're talking to other people to say, 'Here's what the Bible says,' but what happens when it comes to you?

"Galatians 2:20 says, [20] I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.

"What you have to do to lay hold on eternal life--get a grip on the life God's given you in Christ--is come through some of these 'not I' moments, where you realize again what you realized when you got saved. You said, 'I can't do it.' You were conscious of your sinfulness, failure, bankruptcy, brokenness. You said, 'Lord, I can't; I'll trust you because YOU can.' "

Trump claims to be Presbyterian, yet he attended Jesuit Fordham University (as did Gov. Andrew Cuomo) for two years and then transferred to the covertly Jesuit-controlled University of Pennsylvania. Both his son, Don Jr., and daughter, Ivanka, have degrees from Penn. Both Ivanka and Eric Trump attended the notoriusly Jesuit Georgetown University.

Jared Kushner is a fan of the Count of Monte Cristo ("Count of the Mount of Christ;" story about the Jesuit General getting revenge on all of the Order's enemies during its suppression).

Trump's Chief Economic Adviser Larry Kudlow was born Jewish but converted to Roman Catholicism. "Not just Catholicism, but its deeply conservative stream," notes the Times of Israel. "The priest who converted Kudlow belongs to the Opus Dei, the secretive traditionalist wing of the church, and Kudlow attended Opus Dei retreats as part of his conversion."

Treasure Secretary Steve Mnuchin spent much of his career at Goldman Sachs. Steve Bannon, who attended Georgetown University, once said of Goldman Sachs, "It was really like joining the Jesuits. This seems antiquated today, it was before the financialization, it was before all these quants and mathematicians really came to Wall Street."

According to U.S. News & World Report, "Mnuchin graduated in 1985 from Yale University, where he was publisher of the Yale Daily News and a member of the elite secret society Skull and Bones.

"Mnuchin worked at Goldman Sachs for 17 years, becoming a partner in 1994 before leaving in 2002. During his post-Goldman career, he was hired to run a credit fund set up by billionaire George Soros. In 2006, partnering with Soros, Mnuchin bought a DreamWorks film library and financed movies at 20th Century Fox. One such movie, 'Avatar,' became the highest-grossing film of all time."

Today in the News, the Trump administration announced the U.S. is set to restore partial funding to the World Health Organization, agreeing to "pay up to what China pays in assessed contributions."

One hundred years ago, the League of Nations (later to become the United Nations) was established (January 10, 1920). Its first meeting was held in Geneva, headquarters of the W.H.O.

Psychiatrist Dr. George Brock Chisholm, the first Director-General of the W.H.O. (established in 1948), said about the future aims of the U.N. and W.H.O.,  “For many generations we have bowed our necks to the yoke of the conviction of sin. We have swallowed all manner of poisonous certainties fed us by our parents, our Sunday and day school teachers ..it has long been generally accepted that parents have a perfect right to impose any points of view, any lies or fears, superstitions, prejudices, hates, or faith on their defenseless children. … gently put aside the mistaken old ways of our elders if that is possible. If it cannot be done gently, it may have to be done roughly or even violently….”

The book entitled "How the Jesuits Survived Their Suppression," explains:

"Catherine the Great of Russia saved the Society of Jesus almost singlehandedly. She protected the 201 Jesuits she had acquired in 1772 with the First Partition of Poland and insisted that they continue their apostolic work as Jesuits."

According to an expert on Jesuits, "Bill Gates is a Knights Commander of the Order of the British Empire and serves Queen Elizabeth II. The Queen is a Dame of Malta who directly serves the Black Pope, Jesuit General Arturo Sosa."

Trump's alma mater, Fordham University, proudly announced in 2016, "When members of the Society of Jesus gathered in Rome to chose a new leader last month at its 36th General Congregation, it did not take long to arrive at a consensus on October 14: Father Arturo Sosa Abascal, S.J., of the Venezuelan Province.

"With his choice, the order, whose members have led Fordham since 1846, followed in the steps of the Catholic Church by selecting their first leader from Latin America. Michael C. McCarthy, S.J., Vice President for Mission Integration and Planning, said this was unsurprising, given the fact that the region is one of the most populous areas of the world for Catholicism.

“ 'My guess is that it’s not just a coincidence that you have a Latin American general at the same time you have a Latin American pope (who is a Jesuit). We can read into that a desire to provide support for the Pope’s vision of what the church should be,' he said."

Dark plot for worst Winter ever?

"We're going to have an amazing fourth quarter next year"--Donald Trump on May 15, 2020

Just yesterday, government scientist-turned-whistleblower Rick Bright testified before Congress that without a stronger federal response to the coronavirus, 2020 could be the "darkest winter in modern history."

Yes, he's making reference to the same current American "winter season" sparked by the 9/11 terrorist attacks. This winter isn't over until 2025. 

While the last winter season was a double-whammy harsh one that saw citizens suffer through both the Great Depression and World War II, this winter could easily pummel us with a triple-pounding--one that could be made excruciatingly severe by its planners and plotters.

Designed by Johns Hopkins University, "Operation Dark Winter" was the code name for a senior-level bio-terrorist attack simulation conducted in June, 2001. Wikipedia: "Dark Winter was focused on evaluating the inadequacies of a national emergency response during the use of a biological weapon against the American populace. The exercise was solely intended to establish preventive measures and response strategies by increasing governmental and public awareness of the magnitude and potential of such a threat posed by biological weapons."

Last fall, The Johns Hopkins Center for Health Security in partnership with the World Economic Forum and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, hosted Event 201, a high-level pandemic simulation exercise in New York City (October 18, 2019). Wikipedia: "The exercise illustrated areas where public/private partnerships will be necessary during the response to a severe pandemic in order to diminish large-scale economic and societal consequences."

When Steve Bannon was named President-elect Trump's chief White House strategist in 2016, he told  The Hollywood Reporter  he benefited from the left-wing media outlets labeling him as evil.

"Darkness is good," Bannon explained. "Dick Cheney, Darth Vader, Satan--that's power. It only helps us when they get it wrong; when they're blind to who we are and what we're doing."

A favorite book of Bannon's at the time was a primer on American winter seasons, called the “Fourth Turning,” written by historians William Strauss and Neil Howe. Bannon actually read the book three times and carried around a creased copy he had copiously underlined.

"Bannon has great admiration for a provocative but disputed theory of history that argues that the United States is nearing a crisis that could be just as disruptive and catastrophic as the most seminal global turning points of the last 250 years," reported the New York Times in April, 2017. 

The book says, "History is seasonal, and winter is coming. … The very survival of the nation will feel at stake. Sometime before the year 2025, America will pass through a great gate in history, one commensurate with the American Revolution, Civil War, and twin emergencies of the Great Depression and World War II. The risk of catastrophe will be high. The nation could erupt into insurrection or civil violence, crack up geographically, or succumb to authoritarian rule."

Another summary: "In a Fourth Turning, the nation’s core will matter more than its diversity. Team, brand, and standard will be new catchwords. Anyone and anything not describable in those terms could be shunted aside — or worse. Do not isolate yourself from community affairs …. If you don’t want to be misjudged, don’t act in a way that might provoke Crisis-era authority to deem you guilty. If you belong to a racial or ethnic minority, brace for a nativist backlash from an assertive (and possibly authoritarian) majority."

The NYT article pointed out that Strauss and Howe started using the fourth turning phrase "before it became a pop culture buzzword courtesy of HBO’s Game of Thrones." The show is based on science fiction and fantasy writer George R.R. Martin's book series - "A Song of Ice and Fire" - "The plot, at its most basic, is a power struggle: who has it, who wants it and how they plan to get it. Interwoven are themes of honor, justice, revenge and redemption layered between issues of ethics, morality and familial bonds. Further complications involve incest, angry gods and avaricious bankers."

Fabian Society end game--Humanity 2.0

The religion of transhumanism envisions humans transcending their God-given natural state and limitations through the use of technology.

"It says we should embrace self-directed human evolution," explains English scholar Alexander Thomas. "If the history of technological progress can be seen as humankind’s attempt to tame nature to better serve its needs, transhumanism is the logical continuation: the revision of humankind’s nature to better serve its fantasies."

David Pearce, a leading proponent of transhumanism and co-founder of Humanity+, argues, "If we want to live in paradise, we will have to engineer it ourselves. If we want eternal life, then we’ll need to rewrite our bug-ridden genetic code and become god-like … only hi-tech solutions can ever eradicate suffering from the world. Compassion alone is not enough."

Satan has always sought to incarnate himself or implant himself in God’s creation and biblically the things associated with the activity of the Antichrist go far beyond political and economic philosophies.

In Daniel, for example, the 10 kings who reign with the Antichrist are described in the same terms as the giants resulting from the fallen angels of Genesis 6 who “mingle themselves with the seeds of men."

“So it’s a spiritual parentage when Daniel’s talking about the seed, but it’s interesting that Satan does have progeny. It’s not like he doesn’t have children. He certainly does.”

They say if you follow the major bloodlines who trace themselves back to Cain, the top personalities are uniformly involved in three things: Secret societies, Satanism (what they like to call Luciferianism) and pedophilia.

Children are ritually sacrificed to gods because the "fallen-angel entities" want to absorb their “energy” as a food source; a power source, say consipiracy theorists. The drug produced by the adrenalized blood from a tortured child, called Adrenachrome, is highly desirable.

If you look into the history of ancient cultures, there’s a consistent story line of alien, extraterrestrial invasion, one that is common place today. People like Stephen Hawkings and Richard Dawkins, the leading atheist of recent times, have come out publicly suggesting life on Planet Earth perhaps came from an alien invasion and the aliens came here and produced life.

The ‘sons of God’ from Genesis are angels, and these celestial creatures, aliens from Planet Earth from outer space from the realm of the stars (angels are identified in the Bible as stars because of their association with them), invade Planet Earth and literally begin to conduct procreation experiments, experimenting with genetic engineering; biogenetic engineering at an advanced level.

“In Daniel 2 you have this great image of Nebuchadnezzar and the feet represent the kingdom of the Antichrist,” explains Jordan. “Daniel 2:43 says, ‘And whereas thou sawest iron mixed with miry clay, they shall mingle themselves with the seed of men: but they shall not cleave one to another, even as iron is not mixed with clay.’

“Who is the ‘they’? Well, there is no real antecedent unless it’s the 'toes' back in verse 42. Now if they’re going to ‘mingle themselves with the seed of men,’ whoever they are must not be men; must not be human or there would be no comparison with it.

“You look up the word ‘iron’ in a concordance and you’ll be amazed how often it’s associated with the giants. My subjective guess is it has something to do with magnetism and electronic forces and that kind of stuff. Superman had kryptonite and they got iron.

“All of this satanic activity starts all over again in ‘the last days.’ Rev. 11:7 says, ‘And when they shall have finished their testimony, the beast that ascendeth out of the bottomless pit shall make war against them, and shall overcome them, and kill them.’

“Isn’t that an interesting way to define the ‘son of perdition’? He’s the ‘beast that ascendeth out of the bottomless pit.’ He is moved from that dimension into the human dimension. He’s doing exactly what the fallen angels back there in Genesis did.

“If you recall, we’ve looked at a bunch of verses back in Isaiah about the idea of the portals; the places where you can move from one dimension to the other dimension.

“If you think about the angelic world, they’re just as real as you are; they’re just not made of the same physical properties. Angels are not made of Carbon-14, and in the Scripture, there are passageways; we use the term ‘portals.’ Life in their realm is just as real as it is in our realm.

“When Genesis 6:2 says the ‘sons of god saw the daughters of men that they were fair,’ this means these earth-invading angels found the human women ‘useful.’

“The Hebrew word for ‘fair’ is literally the idea of a ‘fit extension.’ It’s the idea of being an acceptable or good host in which to implant yourself. The verse says 'they took them wives.'

"Now when you take somebody, you’ve heard of alien abductions, they didn’t go in and court the women and win them; they TOOK them. Just the terminology tells you this is an involuntary kind of a thing. It was not mutual consent; they came in and took them.

“They went out among them and found appropriate subjects and you’ve got these celestial creatures invading the earth and conducting procreative experimentations with women.

"Joshua, Caleb, David and Noah all fought against these dudes and won, but nevertheless, the genetic engineering produced an advanced extraterrestrial human-type creature.

“When it says these giants in the earth ‘bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown,’ that ‘men of renown’ means they were men of great note, enhanced intelligence and superior ability.

“Jude 6 says, referring to the days of Noah, ‘And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day.’

“Similarly, II Peter 2:4 says, ‘For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment.’

“The angels had a house built by God and they left it. They shifted their dimensional habitation. They literally came into man’s dimension to reside to participate in this experimentation.

“Genesis 10:8 tells us, ‘And Cush begat Nimrod: he began to be a mighty one in the earth.’ What does it mean to say Nimrod ‘began’? It’s almost like he subjected himself to the genetic experimentation and was willing to have that genetic altering in himself in order to partake of the enhancement.

“Remember, it’s Nimrod who establishes Babel in Genesis 11 and it’s him who designs the Tower of Babel to reach unto heaven.

“So all of these things back in Genesis get kind of connected that way where you have these supernatural forces and a guy like Nimrod would be trying to take these supernatural forces and put them under human control.

“Jesus says in Matthew and Luke, ‘As it was in the days of Noah so shall it be in the days of the son of man.’ What you’re reading back there in Genesis is really a template for what’s going to be in ‘the last days.’

Well, that would explain for you some of what’s going on in II Samuel where you would have the successful corruption of the species barrier.

“You remember in Genesis, God says every species will reproduce ‘after its kind’? So He created a barrier and they’re trying to bridge that barrier and produce some mutations that would be beyond that normal-species barrier between normal reproduction.

“And the intelligence, the instincts that they would be trying to create . . . you now see in sci-fi stuff even today, in fact in the last few years you read about how to produce the ultimate soldier and they try to breed into a person the ability to have the eyesight of a cunning sharp-vision animal creation. It involves the senses and so forth and that isn’t anything new.

“People tend to think about men in Genesis as if they were all cave men with clubs, going out and bumping gals in the head and dragging them home into a cave.

"These guys were technological marvels, ‘men of renown’ with advanced cultures in civilization. If the angels come down, you know they have some advanced technology that we don’t have. Some of this stuff is going on in that context.”'

'Forget pew; let them sit in their bathrobe'

Only 9% of Americans want no restrictions on religious services and 48% said services should not be allowed at all in the wake of the virus pandemic, says a new poll by the University of Chicago’s Divinity School and The Associated Press.

"Even for those Americans who strongly identify with a religion, 45% of those polled said they did not want to see a return to in-person services at churches, synagogues and mosques," reports the New York Post.

Virginia-based Griffin Capital Funding, which specializes in church real estate loans, "believes the extended shutdowns would take a heavy financial toll on about half of U.S. churches," reports Reuters.

In an internet article, a popular Louisiana preacher with the Pentecostal Church Of God--a denomination with about 500,000 members--lamented that pastors "are failing to stress the importance of messages in tongues in their teachings."

He argued, "The emotional and spiritual connection of speaking in tongues, the visceral experience, is what appeals to those in need during a time of economic and social instability, and is arguably the heart of the Pentecostal movement . . . This is our power."

The reason the people at Corinth were seeking the gift of tongues is "that gift is a sensational thing that makes you look real spiritual,” said Jordan in a recent study. “You see, the spiritual gifts (I Cor. 12:7) were the outward manifestations of the working of the Spirit of God in you.

“I look at you guys (sitting here today) and I don’t see the Spirit of God working in you. You don’t see Him working in me. He’s inside. You don’t see that. You don’t feel it, you don’t sense it. It’s a non-experiential reality. But when they have those gifts, they start to ‘ffttooo’ and it’s ‘bloo-hoo-hoo-hoo,’ and you can see the manifestation.

“In the Scripture, the people who had the biggest manifestation of the tongue-talking are the worst assembly Paul wrote to. It was not a sign of spirituality; it was a sign of carnality. The Corinthians were the most carnal church Paul wrote to. And they were the ones seeking the spiritual gifts. They were seeking the sensational stuff.

“Notice In I Corinthians 12:14 what Paul says you’re supposed to do: ‘Even so ye, forasmuch as ye are zealous of spiritual gifts, seek that ye may excel to the edifying of the church.’

“You see, they were trying to get the spectacular. Paul says, ‘Everything related to what goes on in the church is for one purpose: edifying, building up an internal structure in the Believers that causes you to become mature.’

“He says in verse 26, ‘How is it then, brethren? when ye come together, everyone of you hath a psalm, hath a doctrine, hath a tongue, hath a revelation, hath an interpretation. Let all things be done unto edifying.’

“Everything in a local church, in connection with worshipping God, is to be done for the purpose of edification. Think about that.

“You need to understand, a lot of stuff we do here people don’t do in other places. People come here and say, ‘Why don’t you all do that?’ It’s because what we DO do is for the purpose of edification.

“What the church today, evangelicalism, calls ‘worship’ we used to call the ‘song service.’ We still do. Back when I was coming up, you called the Sunday morning preaching service the ‘worship service.’ Some people still call it that but not very many. I used to complain, ‘Well, we don’t worship God just one hour on Sunday morning; we worship Him 24/7.’ Now the worship service is only 20 minutes of that hour. It’s a song service.

“But everything, whether it’s the singing, the preaching, the cleaning up of the place, everything is to be done with an eye to the edification of the Believer. That issue of the communication of sound doctrine for the purpose of providing the edification and stability of a person’s inner man--not just teaching the information, but having it go hands-on into the operation of the life. Not just knowing it, but the ability to value and esteem it with that renewed mind and put it into action to bring a person to the place of fully functioning properly."

Kind, tenderhearted--or else?

This morning in the news, U.N. Chief Antonio Guterres called on the world community to "take bolder actions" against "hate speech". In a video statement, he asked “everyone, everywhere, to stand up against hate, treat each other with dignity, and take every opportunity to spread kindness.”

He called on social media companies in particular to step up and take more aggressive action to “remove racist, misogynist, and other harmful content."

Guterres said, “COVID-19 does not care who we are, where we live, what we believe, or about any other distinction. We need every ounce of solidarity to tackle it together.”

Proverbs 16: 23-24 says, [23] The heart of the wise teacheth his mouth, and addeth learning to his lips.

[24] Pleasant words are as an honeycomb, sweet to the soul, and health to the bones.

“Unless the Spirit has led us to acquaint ourselves with what the Word of God says about our speech, we can hardly imagine the important place it has in the lives of both the saved and the unsaved,” writes Bible expositor Cora MacIlravey (circa 1916).

“If we could hear all our words that are spoken during even one day, and as they echo back upon us, if we would remember that ‘out of the fullness of the heart the mouth speaketh,’ we should know, as we have never known, what is in our hearts.

“…There is no place in our lives where the proof of God’s inward working is so wonderfully illustrated as in the relation between the heart and the speech. As the Holy Spirit works in our hearts, staying our thoughts and desires upon God, our words become as the over-filled cells in the honeycomb. They are ladened with the rich, unadulterated milk of the Word.

“…In the nineteenth Psalm we are told that the Word of God is ‘sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.’ The droppings of the honeycomb is the purest honey; and there is a thought also that the comb is filled to overflowing so that drops of pure honey hang from it; not continually dropping, but hanging there ready to drop at the proper time. Not only is the pure sweetness of honey under our tongue, but milk is found there, too.

“…The honey is sweet, nourishing and soothing; the milk represents nourishment and edification. It is as we discern and feed upon the sincere milk of the Word, that the Word is stored away in our hearts and is found under our tongues. The bride’s words are not like the restless waves of shallow water, which roar and foam over the stones and rocks that lie so near the surface, that there is hardly depth to wet one’s feet. Under the bride’s tongue are words of comfort and sweetness, words of grace seasoned with salt, words that are good for edifying as the need may be, words that give grace to them that hear.”
