Atmospheric catastrophe

In light of article from Monday, the day of the eclipse, here is another examination of the same subject:

The coming of Christ is described as morning after a real bad darkness. In fact, in Hosea 6, His actual coming is described as the morning after a big rainstorm.

In connection with the Second Advent is all this atmospheric turmoil that He's going to cause. That's why it says darkness and gloominess and clouds and thick darkness. The sun quit shining because it got so thick black dark, explains Richard Jordan.

When it says the sun turns to blood, the coloration of these things is going to be so obviously the result of atmospheric disturbances. There's going to be such destruction, such repercussion from God's wrath being poured out, that all kind of things like that are going to be happening.

Talking about the Second Coming prophetically, Ezekiel 32:

[7] And when I shall put thee out, I will cover the heaven, and make the stars thereof dark; I will cover the sun with a cloud, and the moon shall not give her light.
[8] All the bright lights of heaven will I make dark over thee, and set darkness upon thy land, saith the Lord GOD.

In other words, it's going to be like the stars of heaven, the sun, the moon and all went out because of that cloud of judgment. Darkness that, in the terms of Exodus, could be felt. It's going to be the direct result of the physical catastrophes that happen because of the armies of God coming to fight and devour and destroy man's rebellion.

Joel 2: [2] A day of darkness and of gloominess, a day of clouds and of thick darkness, as the morning spread upon the mountains: a great people and a strong; there hath not been ever the like, neither shall be any more after it, even to the years of many generations.

[3] A fire devoureth before them; and behind them a flame burneth: the land is as the garden of Eden before them, and behind them a desolate wilderness; yea, and nothing shall escape them.
[4] The appearance of them is as the appearance of horses; and as horsemen, so shall they run.
[5] Like the noise of chariots on the tops of mountains shall they leap, like the noise of a flame of fire that devoureth the stubble, as a strong people set in battle array.
[6] Before their face the people shall be much pained: all faces shall gather blackness.

That's why Jesus, in Matthew 24, told them that except those days be shortened, no flesh shall be saved. It's going to be a time like never was before and this is the culmination of it.

II Thessalonians talks about Him consuming with the breath of His mouth. Isaiah 30 talks about the breath of His mouth going out in flaming fire.

When He comes through that land, it's like a blow torch coming. Back in the prophets is passage after passage about this kind of thing. One of the major ones is Isaiah 30.

Isaiah 30:27: [27] Behold, the name of the LORD cometh from far, burning with his anger, and the burden thereof is heavy: his lips are full of indignation, and his tongue as a devouring fire:

That's the reason over in Revelation 19:14-15: [14] And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean.

[15] And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.

That thing that comes out of His mouth is that fire, that indignation. He pronounces judgment and His breath . . .

Isaiah 30: [28] And his breath, as an overflowing stream, shall reach to the midst of the neck, to sift the nations with the sieve of vanity: and there shall be a bridle in the jaws of the people, causing them to err.

[29] Ye shall have a song, as in the night when a holy solemnity is kept; and gladness of heart, as when one goeth with a pipe to come into the mountain of the LORD, to the mighty One of Israel.
[30] And the LORD shall cause his glorious voice to be heard, and shall shew the lighting down of his arm, with the indignation of his anger, and with the flame of a devouring fire, with scattering, and tempest, and hailstones.
[31] For through the voice of the LORD shall the Assyrian be beaten down, which smote with a rod.

That's the Antichrist and all this judgment is designed to take out the ultimate manifestation of the satanic program personified in the Antichrist and all those with him.

Amos 5: [18] Woe unto you that desire the day of the LORD! to what end is it for you? the day of the LORD is darkness, and not light.

[19] As if a man did flee from a lion, and a bear met him; or went into the house, and leaned his hand on the wall, and a serpent bit him.
[20] Shall not the day of the LORD be darkness, and not light? even very dark, and no brightness in it?

There's no hope in this day. People are going to face a lion, a bear and a serpent. In Revelation, those are interpreted for you; this is not just metaphor in the sense of just an illustration.

The Antichrist has a mouth like a lion, feet like a bear. Who gives him his power? Satan, the serpent.

They're literally going to meet the personification of Satan's program; what Satan's been waiting to do all along is put his man in control. That's what's going to bring the judgment of the day of the Lord.

Zephaniah 1: [14] The great day of the LORD is near, it is near, and hasteth greatly, even the voice of the day of the LORD: the mighty man shall cry there bitterly.

[15] That day is a day of wrath, a day of trouble and distress, a day of wasteness and desolation, a day of darkness and gloominess, a day of clouds and thick darkness,
[16] A day of the trumpet and alarm against the fenced cities, and against the high towers.
[17] And I will bring distress upon men, that they shall walk like blind men, because they have sinned against the LORD: and their blood shall be poured out as dust, and their flesh as the dung.
[18] Neither their silver nor their gold shall be able to deliver them in the day of the LORD's wrath; but the whole land shall be devoured by the fire of his jealousy: for he shall make even a speedy riddance of all them that dwell in the land.

Now, that sounds serious and the Lord is serious. He's going to come and mop up and finish it and it's going to be over with. The description of the mechanics of that and the people involved is what we're reading about back in Joel.

Isaiah 13: [6] Howl ye; for the day of the LORD is at hand; it shall come as a destruction from the Almighty.

[7] Therefore shall all hands be faint, and every man's heart shall melt:
[8] And they shall be afraid: pangs and sorrows shall take hold of them; they shall be in pain as a woman that travaileth: they shall be amazed one at another; their faces shall be as flames.

In Joel, you see people's faces turn black. If you know anything about people who burn up, that's how they look. They look like charcoal.

[9] Behold, the day of the LORD cometh, cruel both with wrath and fierce anger, to lay the land desolate: and he shall destroy the sinners thereof out of it.

[10] For the stars of heaven and the constellations thereof shall not give their light: the sun shall be darkened in his going forth, and the moon shall not cause her light to shine.

You read that and you say, "Woah." In other words, He's going to deal with Satan and those who are part of his program and He's going to punish the world for their evil. This is the place where He avenges Himself and His cause of righteousness against all sin and evil.

[12] I will make a man more precious than fine gold; even a man than the golden wedge of Ophir.
[13] Therefore I will shake the heavens, and the earth shall remove out of her place, in the wrath of the LORD of hosts, and in the day of his fierce anger.

Malachi 4: [1] For, behold, the day cometh, that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: and the day that cometh shall burn them up, saith the LORD of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch.

[2] But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall.
[3] And ye shall tread down the wicked; for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet in the day that I shall do this, saith the LORD of hosts.
