Early Genesis hopping with prophets, revelation

Amos 3:7: [7] Surely the Lord GOD will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets.

"Sometimes you think these guys back in early Genesis didn't have revelation because it isn't written down at the time, but that didn't mean God wasn't communicating with them," says Jordan. "There's a thing called the law of subsequent narrative. That is, sometimes later in the history of the Scripture you'll read something about what happened back over here that they didn't tell you about back over there.

"A great example is in II Timothy 3:8 when Paul writes, [8] Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith.

"Those are the two birds back in Exodus who threw the stakes down. But you don't read their names until you get to II Timothy. Now, the Jews all knew who they were. It's in their history; it just wasn't written yet in the Scripture.

"Jude says, [14] And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints, [15] To execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against him.

"Noah was a preacher of righteousness, so he preached, but Enoch was a prophet and look what he prophesied. He's prophesying about that coming judgment and he does that after he has a kid whose name, Methuselah, means, 'When he dies, BOOM, judgment's going to hit.'

"Luke 23 says, [34] Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots. [35] And the people stood beholding. And the rulers also with them derided him, saying, He saved others; let him save himself, if he be Christ, the chosen of God.

"Now, here's the parallel passage in Luke 11: [49] Therefore also said the wisdom of God, I will send them prophets and apostles, and some of them they shall slay and persecute: [50] That the blood of all the prophets, which was shed from the foundation of the world, may be required of this generation;

[51] From the blood of Abel unto the blood of Zacharias, which perished between the altar and the temple: verily I say unto you, It shall be required of this generation.

"Who does Luke 11:49 say Jesus Christ is? The wisdom of God. You see how one passage says one thing and the other passage says something else, but they're both talking about the same person? In your Bible, the wisdom of God is personified in the Lord Jesus Christ.

"This passage shows you Jesus Christ is saying that Abel was a prophet. Who killed Abel? Cain. Jesus said, 'You Pharisees.' Cain was a Pharisee and Abel was a prophet. That's fascinating. The stuff going on in Genesis 4; it wasn't just two brothers fighting. There's a religious system conflict going on back there; a spiritual battle.

"My point is, they had people getting and giving revelation from God; giving God's truth out all over back there. When Enoch prophesies that's not something strange and unusual for that time.

"Now, Enoch is the guy who disappeared. God literally delivered him from the wrath to come. By the way, his name means 'a teacher.' He teaches that the judgment's coming.

"The name meanings go all the way back. Adam means 'man.' Seth means 'appointed.' Enos means 'mortal.' You go down through those names and you don't think about the meaning of them until you put them together and see that you can make sentences out of them: 'Man is appointed to mortal sorrow, but the blessed God shall come down teaching. His death shall bring the despairing rest and comfort.'

"What?! That almost sounds like Romans 6:23: [23] For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

"You say, 'How'd they know that?!' In I Corinthians 2:7 Paul says, [7] But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory: [8] Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.

"How is it that when Moses wrote that (sentence made of name meanings) in Genesis, he knew how to write something that it was not possible for anybody outside of the godhead to know? That's not possible for Moses to do that. That's one of the living demonstrations of the fact that your Bible is truly a message of extraterrestrial origin. It's not a book of human origin because humans can't do that.

"People like to flip over the chapters giving genealogies, but they're fascinating if you like intricate studies. Noah is the 10th from Adam. If you take the genealogy of Christ, there are six sets of 10 in the genealogy from Adam to Jesus. Every 10th person is a monumental character and type and picture of the coming Messiah. How did that happen?! These things aren't done just willy-nilly.

"Genesis 11:10: [10] These are the generations of Shem: Shem was an hundred years old, and begat Arphaxad two years after the flood:

"Abram is the 10th character from Shem. In Matthew 1, if you count 10 from Isaac you come to verse 5: [5] And Salmon begat Booz of Rachab; and Booz begat Obed of Ruth; and Obed begat Jesse;

"Boaz is the great picture of the Kinsman Redeemer. The first office the Messiah has to exercise is to be the Redeemer, and to be a redeemer he has to be the kinsman. It has to be nearest kin willing to redeem and able to redeem. Boaz fulfills all of that in that great saga the Book of Ruth. That's the reason that little book of Ruth is stuck in there. It's not just there for someone to have a romance novel about."
