Winter's coming

Here is a sermon outtake from one year ago (January 7, 2021):

"There's a wave coming through our country and the tipping of that wave was 2020 and you could sense it all year long.

"In the book The Fourth Turning, when they talk about this winter time, they identify about 4-5 different things that could be the tipping point in the fourth turning. You know, you gradually get rid of the fall and there comes a point where you know, 'Okay, cold weather's here.'

"They actually gave a pandemic as one of their suggestions for what could happen. It's almost frightening.

"Our country's been through seven of these cycles. There's a political realignment that takes place. There's a gathering back together out of a fractured culture into a cohesive one.

"Wintertime lasts until about 2025. The wave has crested and once it tips over then it's just katy bar the door, down the hill you go, as the wave pushes itself over. We're watching that.

"Our country has long ago lost the foundation that it was built on and the next crowd is taking over.

"You need to understand, members of the Body of Christ have been going through economic, social, political persecution like you can't even imagine and like you might fear is coming for you--they've been going through it for decades, for centuries.

"We as Americans have been spared a lot of that because our culture is really been the ripe fruit of the Protestant Reformation, but all that structure is gone. 'If the foundation be destroyed, what shall the righteous do.'

"Our job is to help save people from the wreck; go out and show people what it's like to live through difficult circumstances, not greedily focused on our possessions, but focused on the gospel and the ministry to others God's Word gives us.

"Listen, if there's any nation in the earth that the Adversary would hate it would be America. There's never been, in the 2,000 years of the dispensation of grace, a time when one nation of people has taken the Word of God around the planet as the British and American empires have done in the last couple of hundred years.

"If there's anything that embarrasses the Adversary it's the gospel of grace. If there's anything that enrages him, it's the gospel of grace. If there's anything he can do to stop its propagation, he'd do it. So I can understand why he would make us the 'apple of his eye' as far as indignation.

"Someone said the blood of the martyrs is a seed bed of the spread of the gospel and that will be true."

Here is a post from January of last year:

"Darkness is good," Steve Bannon explained in an old interview with the Hollywood Reporter. "Dick Cheney, Darth Vader, Satan--that's power. It only helps us when they (i.e., ordinary citizens, conservatives, Christians, etc.) get it wrong; when they're blind to who we are and what we're doing."

A favorite book of Bannon's at the time was a primer on American winter seasons, called The Fourth Turning, written by historians William Strauss and Neil Howe. Bannon actually read the book three times and carried around a creased copy he had copiously underlined.

"Bannon has great admiration for a provocative but disputed theory of history that argues that the United States is nearing a crisis that could be just as disruptive and catastrophic as the most seminal global turning points of the last 250 years," reported the New York Times in April, 2017.

The book says, "History is seasonal, and winter is coming. … The very survival of the nation will feel at stake. Sometime before the year 2025, America will pass through a great gate in history, one commensurate with the American Revolution, Civil War, and twin emergencies of the Great Depression and World War II. The risk of catastrophe will be high. The nation could erupt into insurrection or civil violence, crack up geographically, or succumb to authoritarian rule."

The NYT article pointed out that Strauss and Howe started using "the fourth turning" phrase "before it became a pop culture buzzword courtesy of HBO’s Game of Thrones." The show is based on science fiction and fantasy writer George R.R. Martin's book series - "A Song of Ice and Fire" - "The plot, at its most basic, is a power struggle: who has it, who wants it and how they plan to get it. Interwoven are themes of honor, justice, revenge and redemption layered between issues of ethics, morality and familial bonds. Further complications involve incest, angry gods and avaricious bankers."

Business Insider published an online article reminding readers of the predictions made in the 1997 book The Fourth Turning, written by Neil Howe and William Strauss. Here's th summary headline from January 9, 2021: "A book published nearly 25 years ago predicted America would hit a great crisis climaxing around 2020 — and that up next is a millennial vs. boomer standoff that will usher in a new world order"

The article stated, "Howe and Strauss argued that each 80-year saeculum is divided into 20-year cycles, defined by each generation as it comes into adulthood. Each of the four generations that makes up a saeculum gets assigned a tarot-card identity: prophets, nomads, heroes, and artists."

Publisher's description of book Sinners Tarot:

"Tarot is a means of asking the spirit world for life answers, but usually such questions are asked to the grand universe or some other positive energy source. Rarely do people ask the darker side of the spirit realm for answers . . .

"Reaching out to the darker spirits is not a difficult task, but do so with care and respect is the challenge. Any person can draw an inverted pentagram and call out to the 'Devil', but this book gives a little detail on the exact beings they are calling out to.

"It also gives a different perspective on the history of the fallen angels; one which depicts Lucifer and his followers as champions of free will rather than simple bastions of evil intentions. With this in mind, the dark experiences that might come from using this Sinners Deck will be understood to be enlightening, rather than frightening."

"People tend to think of divination as a process concerned with the future and with such questions as 'Will I marry?' and 'Will I be rich?' But in ancient Greece and Rome, as in many other cultures, divination was predominantly concerned with discerning the will of the gods and other superhuman entities (e.g., demons, ghosts) and then learning how to bring oneself into harmony with them," says Encylopedia.com.

"The knowledge that one sought from divination usually was not all that different in its nature from what one could learn from another person. It differed mainly insofar as the gods, demons, and ghosts might know more because they had a greater range of sources of knowledge; they knew what was going on among the dead, among the gods, and in distant parts of the world that the average enquirer could not reach."

"Never in American history has there been such a horrible legion of evil men and women afflicted with psychopathy and striving secretly to take over all of government and commence deadly and heinous crimes, " wrote famous Christian author Texe Marrs just before his death in late 2019 at the age of 75. "Now, truly, we see that the old world is dying. Now is the time of monsters."

In Marrs' latest book,  Psychopaths: Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow, he argues, "We are now in the early reign of the psychopaths, a period of Crazy Times, a frightening era when psychopaths have exploded in number. Psychopaths are changing our culture at an unparalleled pace.

"Today, Satanism, sex crimes, and unspeakable tragedies are occurring at the hands of psychopaths. Things can only get worse as the Politician, the most dangerous psychopath on planet earth, emerges.

"We find ourselves today ensnared in a horrific revolution. We are all in the grip of leaders who have no conscience, no sense of guilt and who literally crave to inspire and cause the most tragic of human blood baths.

"These evil monsters are 'Soul Eaters.' They suck out our souls and leave us bewildered and afraid. A human life means nothing to the psychopath, and the transformation of humanity and its ultimate death would be their most satisfying objective.

"The psychopaths consider themselves to be the 'elites,' whereas you and I are the 'deplorables.' We are the subhuman men and women hated and despised by the psychopaths. We present the roadblock to their goal. If and when they are able to seize our throats, they will strangle us and begin their deadly reign. Nazi Germany and Communist Soviet Russia is a preview of what they imagine will be a defeated America."
