Enticements

"The spirit of Babylon is alive and well in today’s world, manifesting in various systems of idolatryfalse religion, and worldly power. Freemasonry is just one example of how this spirit seeks to infiltrate and deceive. Modern culture is increasingly influenced by the desire for power, wealth, and self-empowerment—values that mirror the rebellion of Nimrod and the builders of Babel."

Here’s an outtake from tonight’s study at my church:

They developed entertainment, leisure, the arts, but not for a godly purpose.

Genesis 4:22: [22] And Zillah, she also bare Tubal-cain, an instructer of every artificer in brass and iron: and the sister of Tubal-cain was Naamah.

That’s metallurgy. They begin to develop industry. Verse 23: [23] And Lamech said unto his wives, Adah and Zillah, Hear my voice; ye wives of Lamech, hearken unto my speech: for I have slain a man to my wounding, and a young man to my hurt. [24] If Cain shall be avenged sevenfold, truly Lamech seventy and sevenfold.

What’s he done? He’s changed the curse. He’s saying, “The curse that God gave on Cain-- he’s reversed it seven times." He’s made himself seven times bigger than he was when God said he was supposed . . . He’s overcome the curse and, “I should overcome it 70 times.”

Now, if your family is involved in metallurgy, artificers in brass and iron, and you want to avenge yourself, you look at that and you say, “Woah, well that sounds like an atomic warfare kind of thing,” says Richard Jordan.

When I read those things, I see them taking the responsibility to work and labor with God and corrupting it, using that to honor themselves, get their own things going, to do what Romans 1:21-22 say:

[21] Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.
[22] Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,

“Look at all the things we can do,” but they become fools.

The first four verses in Genesis 6 are really kind of off the chart verses:

[1] And it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born unto them,
[2] That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose.
[3] And the LORD said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years.
[4] There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown.

Now you’re back in Genesis 4. Part of what’s causing that development we read about in Genesis 4 (technological development, social development, those kinds of things) is because of this passage in Genesis 6.

You say, “What in the world is going on there?” You have the angelic creation seeing man having children. In the angelic world, they don’t reproduce that way. They see humans having children and they take to themselves wives.

Some people have the idea that they go out and forcefully take them, but the idea there isn’t that. They entice them and they literally have sexual relationships.

Jude talks about how they left their first estate and went after strange flesh. Angels can come down, materialize into physical form and so forth. Genesis 6:4 talks about  when “they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown.”

That’s the offspring of these half-breeds. So, this happens before the Flood and after. They were really producing a superhuman race. Giants. Goliath was one, Og was one. It’s because of the hybrid.

In other words, there’s a spiritual invasion; there’s a spirit of the satanic policy of evil driving, seeking to corrupt man.

II Peter 2:5: they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown.

In connection with the Flood, there was some judgment on some angels. There’s a spiritual battle going on here where you see this corruption.

And what’s happening is God had promised a seed of a woman to bruise the head of the serpent.

Genesis 3:15: [15] And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.

Satan knows the seed line that’s going to come through the woman, Eve, and that that’s where the battle is. He’s seeking to corrupt the seed line. He’s seeking to corrupt mankind through the reproductions so that the seed can’t possibly come to defeat him. You want to defeat an enemy, eliminate him.

What happens is man is deceived into thinking he’s so smart, but he becomes a fool because the satanic policy of evil deceives him.

Genesis 10: [8] And Cush begat Nimrod: he began to be a mighty one in the earth.
[9] He was a mighty hunter before the LORD: wherefore it is said, Even as Nimrod the mighty hunter before the LORD.

If you back to Genesis 6:4, you see it refers to “mighty men.” So the suggestion is that Nimrod has the connection with this angelic rebellion.

This dialogue occurred at the end of a Zoom meeting last year held by my church:

Alex Kurz:

"Genesis 4 reads, [23] And Lamech said unto his wives, Adah and Zillah, Hear my voice; ye wives of Lamech, hearken unto my speech: for I have slain a man to my wounding, and a young man to my hurt.

[24] If Cain shall be avenged sevenfold, truly Lamech seventy and sevenfold.

"What he's saying is, 'My reproach is worse, and you know what, I don't care.' Why is he bragging about killing 'a young man to my hurt'? He's not fearful; the way I'm reading it is he flaunts . . .

"Absalom, in order to secure power, you know what he did? He slept with his father David's concubines. There are actually four or five examples in Scripture where someone is sleeping with somebody else's wives, or concubines. It's an issue of power. It's an issue of authority.

"Absalom, that's what he was trying to do. One way of doing it was, well you know, if you start impregnating all these women, you're now building your own dynasty. And there's a link to the original king, for example.

"I think that Ham was bragging (to his brothers) and it had to with the issue of power, and allotment, inheritance. He's saying, 'I'm going to supplant you guys.'

Charlie McQuillan:

"In Genesis 19 with Lot, his daughters conceived through incest with their dad. So Israel is surrounded by the Canaanites, the Ammonites and the Moabites, all of which are products of incest.

"I take the understanding that the angels did come after the Flood and I base that off of Genesis 6:4. The thing you want to take note of in how the giants came back is, all of the giants you can only connect them to Ham; most of them are Canaanites.

Alex:

"As with Genesis 19, you talk about deja vu. The daughters get their father drunk with wine and then of course they get impregnated. All of these enemies are concentrated in that land mass.

"When God gave up on those nations in Genesis 10 (chapter 11 is a narrative on chapter 10)--the point is, when God said, 'I'm going to give up these Gentiles; they're going to be under the operating authority of these small 'g' gods,' there is some intense spiritual, devil activity. Small gods that are there, concentrated in the land.

"By the way, when Jesus was casting out devils, Matthew never tells you where they're from. Where did they come from? Why are they there? It's as though you should already understand there are devils there. There's no explanation; all we know is that He's casting them out.

"I know we always say there's such a high concentration of devils, these fallen creatures, in the land to pollute Israel. That's a very true statement but go back just a little bit further. Why are they there occupying the land? They're there because of this relationship, well, with the Canaanites.

"The Canaanites, when you read the Old Testament, wow, they're almost super-wicked. They're off the charts in their behavior and in their activity.

"By the way, isn't it interesting that when God is going to evict these Canaanites, there's two to three passages where He says, 'I'm sending an angel.'

"We understand Israel's not a military power, but there's angels involved in casting the Canaanites out. That tells us there's things happening we're not seeing; nobody sees with their physical eyes. There's some real intense activity in the spiritual world and it's really concentrated there. That helps me understand why all those devils are hanging around in that region of Canaan."
