Even as our days are numbered

The way things have gotten now numbers are really everywhere and everything is numbered. If you go back 50 years ago it wasn’t this way. The advent of computers numbers everything and has made numbering systems for identification ubiquitous.

Part of what that’s a precursor to is Revelation 13:18: [18] Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.

My point to you is there’s going to come a time where it’s going to be extremely important to be able to identify numbers and the fact that everything in life today has come to a place where it is numbered is just demonstrating that these kinds of passages show we’re just kind of moving toward that, says Richard Jordan.

Now the Bible is a book of numbers and, in fact, has named an Old Testament book the Book of Numbers. The Bible’s full of numbers. I read a commentary one time where one in five verses in the Bible on average has something to do with a number in it. The point is there’s just a lot of numbers.

Numbers are basic to the structure of the Bible. When you study the Bible, you can’t miss the fact that the Bible is set out with a basic structure that is numeric in its structure and its arrangement . . .

more coming tomorrow evening
