"There’s a fascinating passage in Isaiah 24 talking about the tribulation and the return of Christ. Referring to ‘the day of the Lord’ in the end times, it says:
[21]
And it shall come to pass in that day, that the LORD shall punish the host of the
high ones that are on high, and the kings of the earth upon the earth.
[22] And they shall be gathered together, as prisoners are gathered in
the pit, and shall be shut up in the prison, and after many days shall they be
visited.
[23] Then the moon shall be confounded, and the sun ashamed, when the
LORD of hosts shall reign in mount Zion, and in Jerusalem, and before his
ancients gloriously.
“He’s going
to come down to take the earth at the Second Coming. Who is the ‘they’ in verse
22? Verse 21 is talking about Satan and his angels and the kings of the earth," explains Richard Jordan.
“It says they will be shut up in prison. Now you know the angelic host from the time of Noah is held in prison. Jude verse 6 says they’re held in 'everlasting chains under darkness.' So, you’ve got the angels that sinned held in prison and these guys join them!
“Now it isn’t
quite as startling and unusual to see all these guys gathered together at the Second
Advent and awaiting judgment.
“When you
come back to Daniel 7, it seems to me these guys are all future, and when you
look into the future from where they are, they are all together.
“We’re not
talking about the sequential, one kingdom after another kingdom after another
kingdom. We’re talking about a bunch of kingdoms that are there together—I mean,
they’re fighting and there’s contention among them, one taking over the other,
but they are all in that tribulation context.
Daniel 7 begins:
[1] In the first year of Belshazzar king of Babylon
Daniel had a dream and visions of his head upon his bed: then he wrote the
dream, and told the sum of the matters.
[2] Daniel spake and said, I saw in my vision by
night, and, behold, the four winds of the heaven strove upon the great sea.
[3] And four great beasts came up from the sea,
diverse one from another.
“The great
sea is the Mediterranean. If you go back to Numbers 34 when Moses gave Israel
the borders of the land, he said they’re western border is the great sea. It’s
not hard to understand what that is.
“But a sea
in the Bible is also used, as in Revelation 17, as a description of the masses
of people. So it could be the earth, and if you look at verse 17: [17] These great beasts, which are four, are four
kings, which shall arise out of the earth.
“You’re
talking about a sea on the earth; you’re talking about something coming out of
the Middle East because the great sea is the Mediterranean. We’re not talking
about Europe.
“We’re
talking about it coming up as a night vision. The nighttime is what the
tribulation is called. Jesus Christ said, ‘I’m the light of the world. As long
as I’m here it’s daytime.’
“In John 9
it’s: ‘When I go back to heaven the light’s out.’ Malachi 4, Matthew 13, when
Christ comes back it’s as ‘the morning star’ arising. It’s as the S-U-N of
righteousness arising with healing in His wings.
“The Second
Advent of Christ is like the sun coming. You’ve got darkness and then sun
coming up. Matthew 14, when Jesus comes, He comes on the fourth watch of the
night. In other words, at the end of the night is when the Second Advent takes
place.
“If you’re seeing a night vision, just the context of the vision tells you you’re looking at a tribulation type thinking process and context.
{17] These great beasts, which are four, are four kings, which shall arise out of the earth.[
- “You see what it says? It doesn’t say kingdoms; it says kings. These are talking about the people ruling over the kingdoms, so the beasts are defined in the passage two ways. One, they are kings and two, they are future from Babylon.
