He started out by saying, “What we have today is total confusion and I Corinthians 14:33 says, ‘God is not the author of confusion.’ Galatians 5: 9 says, ‘A little leaven leaveneth the whole lump.’
“So if your bible doesn’t contain the Word of God, what do
you have? You have an almost bible, do you not?
“We know in 1881 we had a revision committee, whatever that
is, headed up by Westcott and Hort. And what did they do? They wrote a new
Greek text and from that you have all the modern translations today.
“You had the New American Standard in 1901. You had the
Revised Version and since that time the market has been flooded with corrupt
bibles.
“In fact, in the early 1800s, you had a Baptist preacher by
the name of Russell who went out--he didn’t like hell. You know, the Greek word
and the Hebrew word have been translated into English to 'hell.' The English word
‘hell’ means a really hot place. Now if I don’t translate that, what do I have?
I have a little bit lesser version of it than I have in the English.
“If you don’t like some doctrine, well, translate your own
bible. If you can get enough people to buy it, well, you’ve got it made. Why do
they do that? They don’t do that to make the bible clearer and easier to
understand.
“What do they do it for? To make money. They put that copyright
on that thing and they sell it and that’s what it’s all about.
“If you ever pick up your bible, you ought to know if it
leaves out words, adds words and changes words. It’s very sly and if you’re not
careful, you’re going to miss it.
“In the KJV, Matthew 1:25 says, ‘And knew her not till she
had brought forth her firstborn son: and he called his name JESUS.’
“If your bible left out ‘firstborn,’ then you almost
have a bible. Why is that important? Well, Mary had at least five more children
after Jesus was born. If He wasn’t the first born, then she wasn’t a virgin and
we’ve been believing a lie all these years. Why would they leave that out?
"The next one is Luke 2:33: ‘And Joseph and his mother
marvelled at those things which were spoken of him.’ You know what’s changed in
that verse? They take out the name Joseph, Mary’s espoused husband who had
nothing at all to do with the birth of Jesus, and add the word father.
“You see what’s done with that simple little change? They
have made Joseph the father of Jesus, and if that’s true, then we’re still lost
in our sins, because Jesus Christ was born of a woman, conceived by the Holy
Ghost. He was the only man who ever lived on the face of the earth born to a
woman that man had nothing at all to do with.
******
“Look at Colossians 1:14: ‘In whom we have redemption
through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins.’******
“You know what they change that to? And if your bible
changes that, then you almost have a bible. You almost have a bible but you don’t
really have one. You know what they change the blood to? To ‘his death.’
“Why is that important? If Jesus Christ died without
shedding His blood, would that have been right? Could He have been drowned? Could
He have been put in an electric chair? Without the shedding of the blood . . .
******
“The next one is Mark 3:5: ‘And when he had looked round about on them with anger, being grieved for the hardness of their hearts, he saith unto the man, Stretch forth thine hand. And he stretched it out: and his hand was restored whole as the other.’
“Did Jesus Christ get angry? You see, this is so important. Did
He get angry? Yes, He did. Well, what about Matt. 5:22? It says, ‘But I say unto
you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in
danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be
in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in
danger of hell fire.’“The next one is Mark 3:5: ‘And when he had looked round about on them with anger, being grieved for the hardness of their hearts, he saith unto the man, Stretch forth thine hand. And he stretched it out: and his hand was restored whole as the other.’
“What did they leave out of that verse? ‘Without a cause.’ You
see, if He got angry without a cause then He would have been a sinner just like
us. Wonder why they do that?
*****
“II Timothy 2:15 says, ‘Study to shew thyself approved unto
God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of
truth.’*****
“They get rid of that word ‘dividing.’ You’re not supposed
to divide? Think about that. They change it to ‘rightly handling.’ Why, how
could I rightly handle my Bible? You got to rightly divide it and if you don’t,
you don’t have anything. You have total confusion, and that’s the God’s truth.
*****“Isaiah 14:12 says, ‘How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!’
“In Revelation 22:16, what do we have? It says, ‘I Jesus have sent
mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and
the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star.’
“Well, what do the newer translations do? They come along
and change ‘O Lucifer’ to ‘O morning star.’ You know what that makes Jesus
Christ? That makes Him the same thing as Lucifer.*****
“This next verse is the one that convinced me that the King James
Bible is the Word of God without error and it really did. And you know what’s
changed in this verse? A little preposition. That’s a simple little thing.
“This is so subtle; remember what Satan was over there in
the Garden of Eden? He was very subtle. He didn’t change it much; just changed
it a little bit.
“Romans 3:22 says, ‘Even the righteousness of God which is
by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is
no difference.’
“It’s the faith of Jesus Christ that God chose to impute
righteousness to you. I’m sorry, it’s not by your faith. What do they do to that
verse? They make you and your faith responsible for God imputing righteousness
to you.
“What do the new bibles do? They change the faith OF Jesus Christ
to faith IN Jesus Christ and you’ll find that in most all the new translations.
You know Jesus Christ did it all for you and me. I had no part in that. If you put
yourself as having part in that, you see what you’ve done with what He did on
the Cross?
“When they change that little preposition ‘of’ to ‘in,’ that
changes the whole meaning of the whole sentence.
“Galatians 2:16 says, ‘Knowing that a man is not justified
by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have
believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ,
and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be
justified.’
“You see what they do to that when they change that
preposition ‘of’ to ‘in’? They take away salvation by grace.”

Jordan said the other week as part of a study, “When you
hear me talk about trusting the King James Bible and so forth, that’s not
because it’s some hare-brained idea that came along and because I had some
tradition to do that.
“That comes from almost 50 years of just reading it every
day, studying it for what it is and letting it commend itself to me. I tell
people all the time, ‘You should believe the bible you’re reading. You should
let it tell you about itself.’
“If you’ve got a modern version of the bible, they tell you
you can’t believe in biblical infallibility because they’ve got mistakes in
them. So if you’re going to believe in one of those bibles, you don’t want to
be going around saying the bible’s true and pure, because they’re not and they
tell you they aren’t just by you reading them.
“So when you come to a book that you can trust--you read it
and it’s always dependable--instead of disappointing you, when you doubt
it, you realize the problem was you, not it. You might not know it right then,
but you discover that as you keep studying; you begin to trust it more and
more.”
